About Me

I am a developer from Chitwan, Nepal, working mostly in Python and Linux. What keeps me going is building things that help people who are often left out of the conversation - elderly people who live alone, students who are visually impaired, and juniors who are just starting to learn to code.

Most of my work starts as a weekend hackathon idea and grows from there. I have led a team to build BABU, a small assistive device that talks to elderly users, reminds them to take their medicine, and keeps a caretaker in the loop through an app. It won the Best IoT Award at the Programmer Unknown Battleground hackathon. I have also built Aroma AI, a Llama-based assistant that answers questions about my college using vector embeddings, and Netra, an assistive device for the visually impaired.

Alongside building, I mentor. At the Aroma IT Fest I guided 100+ junior students through a four-day web and mobile app workshop, and at CyberUtshav 2.0 I mentored in the hackathon itself. More recently I have been writing about where AI coding tools help and where they quietly get in the way of actually understanding your own codebase.

These days I am focused on Python, Linux and applied AI - and on the fundamentals, because AI can write the instructions but it cannot take responsibility for the design.

Leadership & Experience

Team Leader

Team BABUZZ · Full-Time

Led a three-person team that designed, built and demoed BABU from scratch over a single hackathon weekend - hardware prototype, firmware and a caretaker mobile app. The team won the Best IoT Award at the international Programmer Unknown Battleground (PUBG) hackathon run by Developers Association Jhapa.

Mentor

CyberUtshav 2.0 Hackathon

Mentored participants through the CyberUtshav 2.0 hackathon. The event brought together 100+ members of the Nepali tech community and it was a genuinely inspiring few days to watch juniors turn ideas into working code.

Mentor

Aroma IT Fest 2.0 & Tech Workshop · Aroma College

Part of the mentor team for Aroma IT Fest 2.0 and the accompanying tech workshop. I mentored students in web and mobile app development over four hands-on days, helping them build small apps from scratch, then sat with them through a closing mini hackathon. Over 800 junior students visited the fest, where we showcased Aroma AI and Netra.

BABU

Assistive IoT companion for elderly Nepali · Team BABUZZ

A small, friendly hardware device built for elderly people in Nepal who live alone. BABU talks and interacts to reduce loneliness, reminds them to take their medicine on time, and stays connected to a caretaker through a linked mobile app. Built as a working prototype with a caretaker app during the Programmer Unknown Battleground hackathon.

Profile

On AI Coding Tools and Fundamentals

Essay · "Soon all programmers are getting replaced by AI"

A widely shared piece arguing that without foundational knowledge of your own codebase, an AI-generated recipe still leaves you with an unserviceable dish. Tools can write perfect instructions, but mastering the fundamentals stays the developer's responsibility.
